AMMOBrugge, Belgium
www.metarc.com Comprised of metal slapping kicks, off - kilter breaks, and a scatter shot of haunting noises, AMMO is anything but predictable. While the band takes it's cues from scene favorites like Decoder and technical Itch, they quickly stray into their own stylistic weirdness of distorted beats and ambient chaos. Each track is thick with texturing, whole aural landscapes slowly build around deep, gritty bass lines and syncopated steps. Although best known for their work as Xingu Hill, the Ammo duo - John Sellekaers and C-Dirk - are a prolific pair. With too many projects to even list, their combine discography includes everything from ambient soundscapes, to experimental noise, to abstract IDM. |

APARATSRiga
The band APARATS was founded in the September of 2000 and consists of six young musicians. The leading member as well as the author of the most of their songs is Peter Helms, who is originally from Denmark but is currently living in Latvia and studying at the Latvian Academy of Music. The style of APARATS is hard to define, because each song is different - from reggae to rock. Top |

BALOZHU PILNI PAGALMIRiga
www.tornis.lv/bpp BALOZHU PILNI PAGALMI was formed back in the spring of 1994 by Maris Shverns (former member of Inokentijs Marpls, also still performing solo). The band is most closely connected to Riga, Agenskalns and "Tornis". Playing numerous live concerts and composing wonderful songs (only, or almost only about love), BALOZHU PILNI PAGALMI alongside Kartaga becomes the second best known "Tornis" band. Currently the former concert activities of the band have decreased and more work is being put into recording albums - the seventh one is coming soon. |

CLAUSTRUMRiga
www.clausthome.org The course
of civilization evolution has just begun. For the time being we have
no means to create understanding or find a true explanation of the outer
space. Space between space, shadow between shadow and endless darkness
which is a prevalence of concentrated metaphysical divergences. But
we have our journey in our micro cosm of inner space (CLAUSTRUM) |

F[ei]KRiga
The beginnings of F[ei]K are found in the summer of 1998, but in the course of time only one of the initial members - the guitar player Ansis "Rooc" Auders - has remained in the band. F[ei]K perform within the styles of crossover and nu metal, experimenting with mixing different styles of music, however, keeping up with the tendencies of modern music. Last summer another member joined the band, which had already gained lasting popularity among young audiences, it was DJ Krii. The concert program consists of two parts, the first of which is DJ Krii show. In July F[ei]K recorded a demo, later came a project with Gustavo&Ozols - a cover version of "Bokss" was recorded (Bokss feat. F[ei]K). |

FUCK ARTRiga
Several well-known musicians, formerly in bands Nejauta, Parks etc, founded F*** ART in Riga in 1991. This was one of the first bands in Latvia to start combining styles of music not usual in our latitudes - reggae, rap, and funk. After several years of silence the band has reunited. With new songs and fresh ideas. |

GAS OF LATVIARiga
"We yet don't know what the idea is, and therefore - what is Gas of Latvia as well..." However, as every musical thing we can describe the creative activities of Gas using such terms as modulation, frequency, amplitude etc. In case someone had an irresistible wish he could try to draw the musical oscillogram of Gas in order to get it's physical image and covered harmony. So, what would the explorer find out? It would be an oscillogram whose audiosinusoids penetrate a synthetic spectrum covering such formal areas as ambient, dub, drum'n'bass etc.- either extreme or relaxing, or danceable versions. The range and phases of this curve are generated in Gas environment, but Andzons (human) and PC (artefact) are the actual engines of Gas. The frequency of involving other members in the creative process depends on complex combinations of different variables. Gas of Latvia invites all those listeners who haven't chosen the major musical highway. |
